In the great Jubilee Year, my husband Kenny and I went to a conference together; “Celebrate Jesus 2000!” At that conference they sang the words of these Scripture many times. As the song and the words nestled into my heart and soul, I began to realize that I need to go to the House of the Lord! When I am in despair or sad, or weak or upset or hungry for God I will find what I need in the Body of Christ. I have come to understand that the Body of Christ is the Church. The Church is not a Building of Stone or Wood! I have come to understand that the Real Presence of Jesus can be found in the Communion Meal at the Eucharistic Celebration at Mass. I have come to understand that the transforming power of God’s Word will change me when I hear His Word proclaimed at Mass. Yes, I read the Bible myself, but to hear His Word spoken to me strengthens and helps me change. I have come to understand that there is a great power of God’s love to heal and uphold me through the fellowship of believers gathered as one before the Lord in the power of His Holy Spirit. “There’s one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God who is Father of all, over all, through all and within all.” Ephesians 4:5-6 Let us go the House of the Lord rejoicing!
